Starting off as a hot dog cart in New York, Shake Shack has come a long way. It’s amazing how much it has spread now. If you’re a Muslim and have visited a Shake Shack location, you might wonder if the food is halal or not.

Shake Shack is not halal in the US. In Muslim nations like Turkey and the Middle East, Shake Shack is permissible to eat or certified halal. At Shake Shack in the UK, only the chicken is halal-certified.

Is Shake Shack Halal?

Many Muslims ask this question so I researched the internet and collected all the info regarding Shake Shack and the halal food they provide.

If you ask them directly about halal food they will directly deny any food which is halal certified in the US. All their chicken and beef come from different vendors and most of them are not halal. Even if some vendors are halal we can’t distinguish between them. From all this Shack Shack is considered not halal in the US.

Secondly, they deny beef being halal in any of their locations in the US, UK, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Russia. If you live in a non-Muslim nation it’s better to avoid beef at Shake Shack as it’s haram. Although at some locations like in the UK chicken in Shake Shack is halal certified. You need to make sure that the specific Shake shack location you are eating at is halal certified.

Finally, they say that all the Shake Shack locations in Muslim countries are certified halal along with all the chicken and beef products. If you live in a Muslim country do have a bite as it’s halal and safe for Muslims to consume.
